Charter your own private train from Williams, AZ to Grand Canyon National Park and back while our helpful and entertaining staff make the journey one you will reflect on with joy for years to come. Designed for those with vacation dreams as big as the canyon, the Rail Baron class of cars combines the luxury of a chartered yacht with the views of the old West and provide the perfect platform for celebrating a milestone moment like a birthday, anniversary, retirement, or other life-changing event.

How the Rail Baron Class Works

Hitch your own private car to an already scheduled train to the Grand Canyon or go the exclusive route and hire your car of choice, a steam or diesel locomotive, and create your own schedule.  A price breakdown for hitching The Rail Baron class of cars to an existing departure can be found below. Prices include a diesel or steam locomotive, Engineer, Brakeman, and Conductor, plus one Passenger Service Attendant per passenger car.

  • The California (Dome/Sleeper Car) – Day use capacity of 22 passengers; Sleeps 16 passengers; 8 private bedrooms, each with a private toilet; 2 common restrooms with showers; No kitchen or dining facilities
  • The Utah (Parlor/Café Lounge Car) – Day use capacity of 26 passengers (additional standing room for 4); No overnight accommodations; Private dining room seats 6; Main lounge converts to seated dining for 12; Onboard kitchen; No bathroom; Must be combined with The California or The Kansas cars
  • The Kansas (Platform Car) –  Day use capacity of 12 passengers; Sleeps 6 passengers; 2 master suites with a shared restroom containing a toilet and shower; 1 standard room with a private toilet; Private dining room with seating for 8; Onboard kitchen; Rear, open-air platform

Schedule a stop at our exclusive open-air chuck wagon. Includes 12-oz. steak cooked medium-well, coleslaw, potato salad, chuck wagon corn, corn muffins, watermelon, and assorted non-alcoholic beverages. Bar service available – see below. Also includes live Western entertainment. Vegetarian requests can be accommodated with 14-day advance notice. Must be booked and paid at least 30 days prior to departure. Add a Stay: Sleep Under the Stars

Available exclusively when chartering all three Rail Baron Cars – spend the night onboard the train while it is parked on our private siding in the Northern Arizona desert. Includes around-the-clock onboard Passenger Service Attendant, on-site security, and onboard continental breakfast in the morning on your return trip to Williams. Limited to 20 passengers. The Ultimate Polar Express Experience

Available on select dates (first come, first serve), departing at either 5:30 pm or 7:30 pm. Travel to the North Pole from Williams, AZ on a private Polar Express train comprised of all three Rail Baron Cars (60 passengers max). Includes Chefs, cookies, and cocoa; and a private tour of the North Pole with Santa, who rides in the cars back to Williams. Lasts approximately 2 hours.
