The Conductor's Club

Grand Canyon Railway is pleased to offer THE CONDUCTOR’S CLUB, a fascinating educational resource for teachers and an exciting learning experience for students.

This program allows teachers to introduce their students to the human history of the Grand Canyon by taking them on a journey back in time aboard Grand Canyon Railway. While at the Grand Canyon, students can explore the architectural wonders of the South Rim Village and be exposed to millions of years of geographic history. Before your trip, teachers have the opportunity to engage students with one of Grand Canyon Railway’s specialized lesson plans located in our online teacher resource room.

Students can travel aboard Grand Canyon Railway to the Grand Canyon for $10 per child, ages 2 – 10, and $17 per youth, ages 11 – 16. These rates are valid for the following dates: January, February, May 1 - 26, September 4 – 30, and November 2007*. This is a savings from our regular train fares, and one teacher or adult chaperone always travels for FREE per every 10 students.

For Conductor’s Club train travel on the dates of March 1 – April 30, May 27 – Sept. 3, and October 2007, rates are $20 per child (ages 2 – 10) and $27 per youth (ages 11 – 16). Again, this is a savings from our regular train fares, and one teacher or adult chaperone always travels for FREE per every 10 students.

Grand Canyon Railway is an educational, entertaining and environmentally sound way to travel to the Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The first passengers to travel via train to our nation’s national treasure did so on Sept. 17, 1901. This trip marked an important turning point for the Grand Canyon. Bring your students to Grand Canyon Railway and teach them more about the fascinating role the train played in the Grand Canyon region.

We are happy to provide you with educational materials to be utilized in the classroom via our online teacher resource room. All materials located here were developed by education majors attending Northern Arizona University and are based on Arizona state standards.
